On January 29, 2010, a 5-floor building suddenly collapsed due to its old age (built 55 years ago) in Ma Tau Wai Road, Hong Hum. TUNG Hing To, 20, unfortunately lost his life in the accident. After the tragedy, Newman Catholic College where Tong studied before held a moment of silence and a fund-raising event for Tung’s family. When Help Actually learned the news, our Chief Executive Miss Janice Cheung and Ambassador of Love Miss Catherine Hung went to the College with our volunteers and sent a cheque to the victim’s mother. We also called on continuous donations from alumnus to help the victims to start a brand-new life. 

Our Ambassador of Love Miss Catherine Hung said I was shocked by the news. When I knew Help actually had contacts with the mother of the youngest victim of the accident, I want to come to comfort and give the mother some support. We are hopeful that support from us can help Tong’s family.

Tung’s mother was so weak after the accident that she could hardly answer any question from the press. We do hope Tong’s family can get out of the shadow soon.
